Qik iPhone app can finally stream live video over 3G

When the Qik iPhone app first came out back in August, it was hardly the mobile streaming powerhouse Qik fans had been hoping for. Due to Apple’s restrictions at the time, Qik had to release a live video streaming app minus the “live”. The policy against live streaming has been lifted now, with apps like Ustream Broadcaster leading the way, so Qik is back with Qik Live, the app they should have been able to put out in the first place.

Now you finally have a reason to go with Qik instead of using the built-in YouTube upload function on your iPhone. Not only does Qik Live do live video, it also works over 3G. Even cooler, it runs on any version of the iPhone, not just the 3GS. Like previous versions of Qik, this app can also save and upload video, and share it social networks like Twitter and Facebook. Congratulations, fellow iPhone owners! We can now do what a Nokia N90 could do in 2008!
